【摘要】:ISO/IEC14496-3(MPEG-4Audio)isanewkindofaudiostandardthatintegratesmanydifferenttypesofaudiocoding:naturalsoundwithsyntheticsound,lowbitratedeliverywithhigh-qualitydelivery,speechwithmusic,complexsoundtrackswithsimpleones,andtraditionalcontentwithinteractiveandvirtual-realitycontent.Bystandardizingindividuallysophisticatedcodingtoolsaswellasanovel,flexibleframeworkforaudiosynchronization,mixing,anddownloadedpost-production,thedevelopersoftheMPEG-4Audiostandardhavecreatednewtechnologyforanew,interactiveworldofdigitalaudio.MPEG-4,unlikepreviousaudiostandardscreatedbyISO/IECandothergroups,doesnottargetasingleapplicationsuchasreal-timetelephonyorhigh-qualityaudiocompression.Rather,MPEG-4Audioisastandardthatappliestoeveryapplicationrequiringtheuseofadvancedsoundcompression,synthesis,manipulation,orplayback.Thesubpartsthatfollowspecifythestate-of-the-artcodingtoolsinseveraldomains;however,MPEG-4Audioismorethanjustthesumofitsparts.AsthetoolsdescribedhereareintegratedwiththerestoftheMPEG-4standard,excitingnewpossibilitiesforobject-basedaudiocoding,interactivepresentation,dynamicsoundtracks,andothersortsofnewmedia,areenabled................
