【摘要】:Thismethodisintendedtoprovideageneralizedprocedurefordeterminingthestabilityofcellulosicpulpfibersexposedtoalkalineenvironments.Specifically,thismethodallowsvariouspulptypestobecomparedwithrespecttotheeffectofexposuretoalkalineconditionsonthestrengthofindividualcellulosicfibersbasedonazero-spantensiletest.Thetimeintervalslistedintheprocedurearenotcritical,andmoreintervalsofshorterorlongerdurationmaybeadded.Inaddition,theproceduremaybesimplifiedbyremovingsomeoftheintermediateintervalssolongasarangeofintervalsisdetermined.Anexampleofasimplifiedprocedurewouldbetodetermine4intervals(forexample,1day,1week,2weeks,4weeks;or1day,3day,7day,14day).Thespecifiedsolution(1NNaOH)isstronglyalkaline.Althoughthisalkaliconcentrationishigherthansomeenvironmentsthatwouldbesimulatedbythistest,thestrongerpHprovidesbetterdifferentiationbetweendifferentcellulosefibertypes.Althoughalkalinestabilitybasedonotheralkalis(forexample,KOH,Ca(OH)2,etc.)atadifferentconcentrationcouldbedeterminedbythismethod,1NNaOHistobeconsideredthestandardsolution.Alkalinestabilityresultsfromothertreatmentsmaybereportedinadditiontothestandardsolutioniftheadditionalsolution(s)provideusefulinformation.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefordeterminingtheeffectofexposuretoalkalineenvironmentsonthestrengthofcellulosefibers.AnalkalineenvironmentisdefinedtobeanymatrixinwhichthepHisgreaterthan8foraperiodof2ormorehours.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
