【摘要】:Thedepositionofanaeriallyapplieddispersantisdefinedastheamountofanaeriallyapplieddispersantthatcontactsthesurface;whereas,applicationdosage(frequentlyreferredtoasapplicationrate)istheamountofmaterialthatisreleasedperunitareabythedeliverysystem.TheunitsofdepositionarelitresperhectareorU.S.gallonsperacre.Thedepositionmaydifferfromtheapplicationdosage(volumeofmaterialperunitarea)formanyreasons,suchas,theeffectsofwindonthesprayandtheevaporationofthedispersantafterithasbeenreleasedfromtheaircraft.Thistestmethoddescribesthemeasurementoftheabilityofaspraysystemtodepositadispersantonoil.Itisnotintendedthatthistestmethodbeusedatthetimeofaspill.Thesetechniquesareintendedtodeterminetheequipmentperformanceduringthedevelopmentofnewsystemsandaftertherepairorsignificantmodificationofasystem.Thedataobtainedfromtheuseofthistestmethodcanbedirectlyrelatedtothedepositionofdispersantonanoilslick,andthuscanservetodetermineboththedispersantdepositionandthedropletsize.Dispersantdepositionanddropletsizedatacanbeusedasatechnicalbasisfortheoptimizationofdispersantapplicationequipmentanditsuse.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthedepositionofanaeriallyapplieddispersantonthesurfaceofthegroundorwater.Thetestmethodofobtainingthesemeasurementsisdescribed,andtheanalysisoftheresults,intermsofdispersantuse,isconsidered.Thereareanumberoftechniquesthathavebeendeveloped,andthistestmethodoutlinestheirapplication.Thesemeasurementscanbeusedtoconfirmorverifythespecificationsofagivenequipmentset,itsproperfunctioning,anduse.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletosystemsusedwithhelicoptersorairplanes.1.3Thistestmethodisoneoffourrelatedtodispersantapplicationsystems.GuideF1413coversdesign,PracticeF1460coverscalibration,TestMethodF1738coversdeposition,andGuideF1737coverstheuseofthesystems.Familiaritywithallfourstandardsisrecommended.1.4Therearesomeexposureandoccupationalhealthconcernsregardingthemethodsdescribed.Thesearenotdiscussedinthistestmethodsincetheyareafunctionofdispersantformulation.Anyoneundertakingsuchexperimentsshouldconsulttheoccupationalhealthexpertsofthedispersantmanufacturerregardingtheprecautionstobeused.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
